Summary

This proposal depreciates VitaDAO Development Proposals (VDPs) which are no longer relevant or have materially changed in light of the VitaDAO Mandate and operationalized in approved governance VDP-148 Blueprint for Sustainable Growth.

Motivation

The acceptance and approval of VDP-148 by tokenholders sets in motion a wholesale re-evaluation of VitaDAO’s operational governance. The elimination of Working Groups, Stewards, VitaCore, and centralised operational / service functions means that many aspects of VitaDAO’s current governance framework is no longer grounded in this new reality and is not contextually suitable for continued use.

As part of the post VDP-148 process, a series of new governance proposals will be presented to the community to activate a new operational model, but for immediate clarity it is desirable to explicitly depreciate governance that is deemed no longer valid, and identify governance to be amended to reflect the new operational framework envisaged in VDP-148.

Additionally, some governance proposals have been paused, did not pass, or simply were not implemented as conditions changed after the fact and these proposals need to be followed up on or rendered inoperative based on the current mandate.

Implementation

For proposals classified as “Not Impacted”, the governance shall be deemed as remaining in effect, or have simply been fully executed, and are now historical. Inconsistencies in terms such as references to working groups or stewards shall be deemed amended to the equivalent pod/pod leads as required. Any further clarifications shall be provided by the Guardians once elected as anticipated in VDP-148.

For proposals classified as “Depreciated and/or Inoperative” the governance shall be deemed inoperative / inactive effective the date this proposal passes the Snapshot vote.

For proposals classified as “Requires Amendment / Replacement / Follow-up” each proposal shall be replaced or amended by Guardians and Pod Leads once elected, as envisaged in VDP-148.

thank you Todd . Just quickly going through the proposals. It seems to include some (see above) that were rejected by the community . why should we revise them?

Also who will be in charge of revising these proposals - will it be the new pod leads?

I may have included some where the disposition was know within Dealflow, but it wasn’t clear from the Discourse.

I will move these to Inoperative if they are not going forward. Cc @Paolo

The modification / reassessment will be made when the Pod Leads are in place. I am told that will occur within August.

I felt it important to try to bring clarity on what is being impacted by VDP-148 and beyond, as I myself wasn’t clear how deep the changes would go ultimately, so this VDP is to try to bring the scope of changes into one spot to start.

Thank you for the clarification. I have a similar comment as Michele’s on funding proposals, please allow me some time to look into it and give you my take. Same goes for governance proposals.

Lots of proposals to look at here!

I can give you this feedback for now. In my view, past proposals for funding or partnering with external entities are not impacted by VDP-148, which is mainly about internal governance and future funding and partership decisions.

Therefore:

  • VDP 17, 22, 33, 43, 84, 134, 141, 142, 143, 146, 147 and
  • VDP 9, 40, 47, 49, 61, 76, 81, 90, 91, 92, 98, 116, 117, 123, 125, 129, 132, 139
    should not be impacted.

Hello Everyone,

I’m a Loring, Head of Commercial at brainbot gmbh - a core contributor to Shutter Network.

I noticed that Vita DAO recently disabled Shielded Voting by Shutter for your Snapshot space. (VDP-153 was shielded, but VDP-154 and -155 were not.)

I see that Vita DAO enabled Shielded Voting via VDP-70: Snapshot. I also see the VDP-70 is marked as “Not Impacted” in this forum discussion. But I do not see a discussion or vote to disable it.

I am interested to learn more about Vita DAO’s experience with Shielded Voting, and how the decision to disable it was made.
