Hello VitaDAO Community!
I am a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) based in New South Wales, Australia, with over 10 years of experience in high-acuity perioperative environments as a scrub/scout nurse. I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Perioperative Nursing (UTAS) and specialise as a scrub/scout nurse in various surgical specialties including orthopaedics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Maxillofacial, Vascular and Head & Neck Cancer Surgery.
I am currently pivoting my focus toward the systemic side of healthcare. I work on the floor as a CNS and also as an In Charge Nurse in theatre where I coordinate theatre flow, staffing and any issues that arise. Starting mid-year 2026, I will be undertaking a Post-Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management, which aligns with my current role as Clinical Nurse Specialist (mentoring students, new graduate nurses and providing support to the Surgical Department) and my experience as a Relieving Procurement Officer (organising loan equipment, unit consumables, lending and borrowing, instrument trays, liaising with CSSD, company reps and large medical and surgical purchasing).
I’ve joined VitaDAO because I am passionate about the “translation” problem: How do we take breakthrough longevity science and actually implement it within a rigid, public hospital framework?
How I can contribute to the DAO:
-
Clinical & Operational Review: Providing feedback on how new therapies or medical devices would realistically fit into hospital workflows and procurement cycles.
-
Medical Device Governance: With my background in procurement and theatre, I have a deep interest in TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) compliance and mandatory reporting protocols for medical devices.
-
Education & Mentorship: I am highly experienced in breaking down complex clinical concepts for junior staff—a skill I hope to bring to the community to help make scientific proposals more accessible.
-
Implementation Logic: Assessing the practicalities of clinical trials from the perspective of someone who manages the equipment, the staff, and the patient safety protocols on the ground.
I am particularly interested in joining the Scientific or Longevity Working Groups and connecting with others who are building AI-assisted tools for clinical safety and data integrity.
Looking forward to helping the community build a more efficient, evidence-based future for healthcare.
Best regards,
